My Approach

I am a professionally qualified coach (Institute of Leadership & Management, Level 7) and mediator with a passionate belief that each person has hidden resources. Through coaching, I enable people to tap into these resources and used them to develop their potential and make effective change in whichever area of their lives is important to them.

I tailor my approach to each individual and their circumstances. Known for my relaxed, warm and friendly approach, my coaching style is supportive, yet challenging when appropriate.

Typically, a coaching session will be for an hour or an hour and a half. In the first session, I will spend time getting to know my client, agreeing what we are going to work on and how we are going to work together. Building and maintaining trust and rapport is key to an effective coaching partnership.

Each coaching session will involve:

Listening

To understand each person’s situation, their thoughts and feelings about it and what they hope to achieve

Questioning

To clarify and challenge thinking, self-limiting beliefs and develop new ways of thinking and behaving

Supporting / Challenging

Balancing challenge with empathy to encourage individuals to develop their own ideas and find solutions

Reviewing

Actions to be taken and ways of measuring their effectiveness

I offer coaching by whichever means is most suitable to individual clients and their circumstances. This may involve a combination of face-to-face sessions, or contact via telephone or Skype/Facetime.
